Nuria Ano


  A writer, a translator. Her first story was published in 1990. In 1996, she was awarded the 18th City of Almenara Joan Fuster Prize for Fiction. In 1997, she was the Finalist for the 8th Merce Rodored, a Prize for Catalan Short Stories of Molins de Rei.

  Her novel Elisa’s Children was the third among the finalists for the 24th Ramon Llull Prize for Catalan Literature and was published in 2006. She published The Dead Writer in 2008, Low Clouds in 2009, and The son's Gaze in 2012. Her works have been translated into Spanish, French, English, Italian, German and Polish.

  She is now writing a biography of screenwriter Salka Viertel, a Jewish salonniere and well-known in Hollywood in the thirties as a specialist on Greta Garbo scripts. She is a regular speaker at conferences and symposia where she gives papers on literary creation or authors.
