Heidi North-Bailey
A playwright, scriptwriter and producer, fiction writer, poet, and non-fiction writer. She spent three years working as an editor in a London Publishing house. She has also worked as an English as a second-language teacher in Huizhou, China. In film, she is a trained-actor-turned-script-developer/writer and producer. She has been involved in script development with Script to Screen. Currently she is producing a short in post-production directed by Yoobee film teacher Michael Millar.
She won Asia-NZ 20th Anniversary Short Story Competition 2014), the Third Place of AUT Poetry Competition Adult 2013), Runner up for BNZ Katherine Mansfield Short Story Novice Competition(2012) and Havant Literary Festival Prize, Poetry (UK)(2008), and the winner of The Feile Filiochta International Poetry Competition(Ireland). She was one of the 23 writers worldwide admitted into the creative non-fiction distance-learning course at The University of Iowa, USA. Now she is writing the novel In the Shanghai Rain.
